it may just be me, but I thought Surprise has her mane going either side of her neck with 2 mane bracelets on? but still has her mane in similar style to Pinkie's

From my understanding, she's always been a straight-up Pinkie Pie recolor, just with pegasus wings. :shrug:

I saw it in a comic once and a few other places, those ppl claimed that that was her appearance, not exactly like Pinkie's, just enough to give her some difference,

and no worries, it is a nice picture :)

As far as I know, Surprise only officially appeared in concept art when Lauren was pitching the show. [link] Any alterations I think would be artistic liberties taken by the fandom, and that's perfectly alright!

fair enough :) have to say though I do like Surprise looking slightly different than the exact same expect with wings and a colour change, this is where I first saw her like it, just a panel from the Dash Academy comic
